The Struggle is Real. Especially for ladies.
While chronic pain impacts a higher proportion of women than men around the world, they are less likely to receive treatment. There are many treatment barriers for women and a lack of understanding of chronic pain by medical providers as a whole. In a Toronto study, medical students interviewed about chronic pain said they saw pain as subjective and incurable, which often lead to confusion and frustration on how to provide care. When I'm not wrangling with the beast that is chronic pain I am exploring the PNW with my husband, collecting cool rocks, doing a variety of craft projects, and playing board or video games with friends!
