Where Authentic Expression Becomes
STRATEGIC POWER
I spent the start of my career trying to mask chronic pain and play by the traditional rules of adulthood, but the "grin and bear it" mindset only led to a dead end. Painfully Me was born when I realized that true success doesn't come from forcing a fit, it comes from the courage to stand out.

My Journey

2019
High School's High Acheiver
Despite the challenges of managing chronic pain, I successfully earned my high school and Associate degrees through Running Start while launching I Knit You Knot, a handmade hat business that forged my resilient entrepreneurial spirit.
No Pain No Gain
I pivoted from physically demanding cashiering roles to a paraeducator position to better support my health. This transition provided the sustainable balance needed to prioritize my professional growth and continue pursuing my Bachelor’s in Marketing.

Multi-Tasking Queen

2021-2022
Though rewarding, the physical demands of my paraeducator role eventually became unsustainable, leading me to make the difficult but necessary decision to prioritize my health and step away to find a more balanced path.
Needing a Change
I transitioned to a desk-based role at Washington L&I, only to find that the relentless call volume and strict quotas severely impacted my health and stalled my education. This challenging period ultimately forced me to re-evaluate my environment and seek a path that truly balances my professional ambitions with my physical well-being.

2023
My husband has been my unwavering supporter throughout my health journey, ultimately encouraging me to leave the high-stress L&I role to prioritize my well-being and education. Following the end of my contract, we celebrated our marriage, marking the beginning of a new chapter where I could finally focus on my future with his partnership and encouragement.
Bigger Shift

2024
After earning my B.S. in Communication, I launched Painfully Me as a professional portfolio and resource hub for women with chronic pain. While a subsequent remote role at CBDG proved unsustainable due to inconsistent hours, the experience solidified my commitment to a digital career that aligns with my health and professional goals.
Getting 'Er Done

2025
Revitalizing the Winlock Egg Day website revealed my passion for helping local businesses grow their digital footprints through authentic design. This inspired me to evolve Painfully Me into a marketing brand focused on raw storytelling and genuine community connection.
